About AURUM™
Features
-
Coefficient of expansion
AURUM™ has a highTg (245℃),
➡Stable coefficient of expansion at a high temp.
PEEK (Tg≒140℃)
➡Cannot maintain coefficient of expansion at 150℃ and higher.
Other polyimide resins are non-thermoplastic
➡Cannot be filled with filler
➡Difficulty controlling the coefficient of expansion.
*Tg = glass transition temperature -
High temperature stiffness
AURUM™ has a high Tg (245℃),
➡Stable excellent modulus of elasticity at a high temp.
PEEK (Tg≒140℃)
➡Cannot maintain coefficient of expansion at 150℃ and higher.
Other polyimide resins are non-thermoplastic
➡Cannot be filled with filler
➡Tend to lack strength and elasticity.
*Tg = glass transition temperature
Nine Distinctive Physical Properties
-
High temperature
stiffnessAURUM™, which has high Tg (245℃) can be used in harsh environments such as engines and transmissions.
-
Thermoplastic
AURUM™ is thermoplastic polyimide, which can be injection molded. Cutting machining is unnecessary .
-
Sliding
propertiesCritical PV values are in the highest class of thermoplastic resins
-
Outgas propertie
AURUM™ has remarkably low outgas properties at high temperature ranges compared with competing products.
-
Radiation resistance
AURUM™ has higher radiation resistance compared with other imide resins, maintaining physical properties at high temp.
-
Low coefficient
of expansionAURUM™, which is thermoplastic resin and have high Tg , can be filled with fillers to control and maintain its coefficient of expansion at high temperature ranges.
-
Creep properties
AURUM™, which can maintain an excellent modulus of elasticity, exhibits excellent creep properties at high temperature ranges
-
Chemical resistanc
As AURUM™ has an imide structure, it possesses excellent chemical resistance.
-
High-precision molded products
As the shrinkage factor is 1% or less(amorphous), high precision molded products can be produced(shrinkage factor is 2% for crystalline).
