About LUCANT™
Concept
LUCANT™ is a non-crystalline hydrocarbon-based synthetic oil produced by copolymerizing ethylene and α-olefin.
It has an extensive lineup ranging from models with viscosity equivalent to that of mineral oil to high-viscosity ones, which are distinctive in the sense that they have both the characteristics of oil and those of polymers.
Free of aromatics, alicyclics and other impurities, it is hygienic and excels in heat aging resistance and weather resistance.

Production base
To meet the increasing global demand, a new plant was built at the Ichihara Works in Chiba Prefecture in 2021.
From then onwards, LUCANT™ is produced at two locations, namely the Iwakuni-Otake Works with a conventional plant and at the Ichihara Works. That also bolstered our business continuity plans.
Heat resistance
LUCANT™ is more stable against heat and exhibits less change in color than mineral oil.

Low-temperature characteristics
LUCANT™ has a lower pour point than mineral oil and polybutene with comparable viscosity and is superior in low-temperature fluidity.

Hygiene
As an ethylene / α-olefin co-oligomer, LUCANT™ has a unique composition. It is free of naphthene, aromatics, alicyclics and other impurities.
