Advantages of using LUCANT™

LUCANT™ is superbly compatible with EPDM and has a high molecular weight. It is unsusceptible to bleed-out and excellent in pollution resistance.

LUCANT™ produces a high tack level in a non-crosslinked state. It therefore excels in windability around rolls and in formability.

Addition of LUCANT™  increases wear resistance and heat resistance.

Advantages of using LUCANT™

LUCANT™ is used as a defoamer agent for urethane, epoxy and other paints and coating materials.

Addition of LUCANT™ induces fine dispersion of non-compatible LUCANT™ in the coating film to trigger foam breakage. It thus exhibits a defoaming effect.

LUCANT™ is so high in heat resistance and weather resistance in comparison with mineral oil that it produces an effect of suppressing hue changes.

It may also be used as a defoaming agent for electric materials with a view to avoiding the use of silicone.

Advantages of using LUCANT™

LUCANT™ has good compatibility with SEBS since its chemical structure is similar to ethylene-butene block of SEBS.

Application of LUCANT™ instead of mineral oil as a softener improves compressed permanent distortion and permanent elongation of TPS compounds.

LUCANT™ keeps elastic modulus at a lower temperature than mineral oil does. It also lowers the glass transition temperature. It thus increases the flexibility of TPS compounds at low temperatures.

As an ethylene/α-olefin co-oligomer, LUCANT™ has a unique composition. Free of naphthene and aromatics, it excels in hygiene and suited for food containers and medical materials.

Addition of LUCANT™ to engineering plastics reduces their friction coefficient and increases their wear resistance.

Advantages of using LUCANT™

Addition of LUCANT™ to adhesives increases their adhesive strength and lowers the heat sealing temperature.

Advantages of using LUCANT™

Addition of LUCANT™ to ethylene-ethyl acrylate (EEA), ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) and other polyolefin-based resins increases their flexibility.
It also improves handling properties, moldability and workability.
