Applications
EBT exhibits superior characteristics to conventional EPDM at low temperatures,
and also features environmental advantages such as improved adhesion
and improved fuel efficiency due to low friction loss.
It has a track record of various applications as an alternative to EPDM, chloroprene rubber, and silicone rubber.
Belts (adhesive layers, friction compounds)
- Advantages of EBT
- Adhesion, heat resistance, chlorine-free
- Required properties
- Adhesion, adhesion to canvas, good workability
- Conventional materials
- Chloroprene rubber, EPDM
- Recommended brands
- K-9330M
EBT can be expected to perform well when used as an adhesive layer for belts, and in friction compounds, taking advantage of its good adhesive properties before vulcanization.
In terms of adhesion to canvas required for belt adhesive layers, we have been able to significantly improve adhesive strength in comparison with conventional EPDM.
The advantages over chloroprene rubber, which is the conventional material, are improved heat resistance and chlorine-free material.
EBT has a proven track record in a wide range of belt applications, including transmission belts and conveyor belts.
Gaskets, O-rings (low temperature, hydrogen)
- Advantages of EBT
- Low-temperature properties, siloxane-free
- Required properties
- Good compression set (CS), low temperature
- Conventional materials
- EPDM, silicone rubber
- Recommended brands
- K-9330M、K-8370EM
Gaskets demand a wide range of physical properties depending on the material to be sealed, and the purpose of use.
EBT lowers the minimum usable temperature at low temperatures by around 20℃ in comparison with conventional EPDM.
In addition, by replacing silicone rubber, we can suppress the volatility of siloxane gas, which has been a problem in the past.
EBT has a proven track record of use in various low-temperature gaskets, including hydrogen gaskets and refrigerant gaskets.
Rollers, blankets (adhesive layer)
- Advantages of EBT
- Adhesion, chlorine-free
- Required properties
- Adhesion
- Conventional materials
- EPDM, chloroprene rubber
- Recommended brands
- K-9330M
EBT has a proven track record as an adhesive layer for industrial rollers due to its good adhesive properties before vulcanization.
EBT has lower hardness and better flexibility than conventional EPDM, giving it greater functionality in roll applications.
Low-temperature hoses
- Advantages of EBT
- Low-temperature properties, siloxane-free
- Required properties
- Good compression set (CS), low temperature
- Conventional materials
- EPDM, silicone rubber
- Recommended brands
- K-9330M、K-8370EM
Automobiles are required to perform in various environments.
EBT can be expected to perform well when applied to low-temperature hoses, such as automotive hoses for vehicles in cold regions.
In addition to automotive hoses, it can also be expected to perform well when used for industrial applications such as hoses for refrigerants.
