ーBe a PLAYERー
The arrows in the logo indicate the future direction toward carbon neutrality, imagining the existence of BePLAYER™ with the future. Everyone wants to be a PLAYER and lead to a better future, We put that feeling into it.
Achieving carbon neutrality with biomass
Under BePLAYER™, we will help the transition to bio-based society to solve the problem of climate change.
For example, we will use bio-based hydrocarbons generated from used cooking oil to produce plastic materials.
This enables us to create bio-based versions of materials once seen as too difficult to produce from biomass, and will help to substantially reduce GHG emissions across society.
It's PEOPLE who always bring about changes in society
In order to realize a carbon-neutral society, it is important for each person to act as a PLAYER and start moving.
As Mitsui Chemicals, which inherits the spirit of "Human Mitsui," let's become a PLAYER that creates the future together while enjoying change with partner companies, customers, and consumers who make up the value chain.
Introducing the bio-based materials and technologies currently provided and initiatives
by Mitsui Chemicals Group toward the realization of carbon neutrality.
We are pursuing a shift to biomass right from the cracker, which can be seen as the core of a chemical complex producing all sorts of chemical products.
As a result, we will be able to transition all sorts of basic chemicals over to being bio-based, which will in turn enable the creation of derivative chemical products and plastics that are themselves bio-based.
These efforts will make it possible to avoid various issues that were apparent with a segregation approach to producing bio-based chemicals - such as a biomass transition not being feasible for certain products, or cases where an economy of scale could not be achieved - and convert various product lineups over to using biomass, helping in turn to raise the biomass use of society as a whole.

The following are bio-based products made from biomass raw materials that have been leveraged for chemical production while being kept separate from their petroleum-derived alternatives throughout the supply chain. Both the mass balance and segregation methods will be important approaches as society looks to further its shift toward biomass through the utilization of bio-based chemicals and plastics.
