Mitsui Chemicals Supports “WFP Walk the World”

Tokyo - May 19, 2015 - Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. (Tokyo: 4183; President & CEO: Tsutomu Tannowa ) will participate in and exhibit at the WFP Walk the World which will be held on May 24th (Sun) at Yokohama Minato Mirai.
The World Food Programme (WFP) is a humanitarian agency of the United Nations. “WFP Walk the World” is a charity event held annually by Japan Association for the World Food Programme※ to increase awareness of global child hunger and raise funds for WFP's school meals programs.

At the Mitsui Chemicals exhibition booth, the Group will display its hybrid rice, Mitsuhikari and its film and packaging
product, Spash™ which helps retain food freshness. Mitsuhikarai is the Group’s specially developed tasty rice with exceptionally
high yield which Mitsui Chemicals believes may be one solution to the world’s food problems. Meanwhile, Spash™ is a high
performance food film and packaging material that contributes to reducing food loss through its superior ability in retaining
food freshness.
The Group will also exhibit its environmentally friendly sludge and sewage polymeric water treatment
agent, ACCOFLOC™, and its high performance TAFNEL™ Oil Blotter™ which helps reduce environmental damage caused by oil spills
and other related accidents.
In addition, following last year’s participation, this year 80 Group employees will take to the streets and participate in
the WFP walk to rack up miles for their “healthy mile program”, one of the many employee health management programs which
Mitsui Chemicals offers to improve employee mental and physical health, while also raising awareness of global hunger.
