Driving business portfolio transformation with strong determination toward becoming a global specialty company

Mitsui Chemicals Group (“the Group”) aims to become a high-growth, high-profitability global specialty company in specialty chemicals domains, while striving to establish its Basic & Green Materials (“B&GM”) business a strong basic and green materials company supporting Japanese industry. To achieve this vision, the Group accelerates business portfolio transformation with nothing off-limits, such as initiating a policy on the split-off of B&GM business.

The Report was prepared under the theme of “the strong will to achieve a global specialty company”. It also provides an in-depth explanation of the path the Group is taking to improve its corporate value from the perspective of “integration of financial and non-financial performance”.

 <New initiatives>

  • The English edition of the Report is released simultaneously with the Japanese edition from the perspective of fair disclosure.
  • The scope of calculations for Scope 3 has been expanded to include major consolidated subsidiaries, in request from many stakeholders.
