RC Activities and the RC Awards

RC activities are voluntary initiatives aimed at protecting the environment, health and safety throughout all processes involving chemicals, from their development to their manufacture, distribution, use, final consumption, disposal and recycling. They include disclosing the outcomes of RC activities and engaging in dialogue and communication with the public.
With the aim of furthering the development and expansion of RC, the JCIA presents the RC Awards each year to business establishments, plants, corporate divisions, groups and individuals who have achieved outstanding performance or made a notable contribution in this field.

Based on the Responsible Care Policy, Mitsui Chemicals Nagoya Works strives to achieve zero accidents and occupational injuries, reduce environmental impact, protect the environment, earn the trust of stakeholders and promote the well-being of its employees. Being located in a major city, Nagoya Works has placed particular focus on making ongoing efforts to reduce the site’s overall environmental impact.

The RC Outstanding Award was made in recognition of the wide-ranging nature of Nagoya Works’ environmental protection activities, including steadfast endeavors to reduce both greenhouse gas emissions and the discharge of wastewater and industrial waste. Nagoya Works was also praised for the fact that all employees have pursued these activities in parallel with the reorganization of the site arising from business restructuring, and for efforts to promote understanding among local citizens and cooperation with local government, which are essential for a plant located in an urban area.

Mitsui Chemicals will continue to promote RC activities.
