Dow-Mitsui Polychemicals starts marketing of biomass EVA and biomass LDPE

2024.09.02

Dow-Mitsui Polychemicals Company, Ltd

Mitsui & Dow Polychemicals (Tokyo; President: Ryoji Kato) starts marketing biomass ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) and biomass low density polyethylene (LDPE) based on the mass balance method from September 1, 2024.

The mass balance approach is a chain of custody method used to trace the flow of alternative feedstocks through complex value chains. During the production process, certified feedstocks are mixed with conventional materials, resulting in products that are physically indistinguishable from those made solely from conventional feedstocks*.

Biomass EVA and biomass LDPE have the same resin properties as conventional petroleum-derived products, making it easy to switch between them.

Since obtained ISCC PLUS certification at our Chiba Plant (Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture) in May 2024, we have been preparing to start production and marketing of biomass EVA and biomass LDPE products.
