Contributing to Sustainable Development
Chemical products and materials help in improving and enriching quality of life around the world, being used in automobiles, electronics, general commodities, medical and health care, foods, housing, energy and countless other products. It is not an overstatement to say that material development in the chemical industry is a key factor in many breakthrough innovations.
The chemical industry has the potential to provide solutions for some of the most pressing issues that society faces, including climate change and other such environmental issues.

Formulating VISION 2030 in View of Greater Achievements
Under VISION 2025, our long-term business plan launched in fiscal 2016, we have worked with all of our stakeholders to pursue a business portfolio transformation for the Mitsui Chemicals Group.
Meanwhile, the conditions surrounding us have been changing significantly, and at quite a rapid pace. This has included developments in digital transformation, an increasing focus on ESG initiatives, the rising social awareness around environmental issues, changes in the business environment, diversification in the ways people work, international trade tensions and an increasingly competitive market environment.
Faced with these various changes to the environment we operate in, we have given some real thought to how we can continue to grow Mitsui Chemicals beyond 2025. We have then formulated the new VISION 2030 plan to serve as a guideline in this effort.
Going forward, the Mitsui Chemicals Group intends to use the initiatives laid out in VISION 2030 to help solve social issues in prompt fashion and contribute to a sustainable future. These initiatives will see us ramp up solutions-based business models, make efforts for a circular economy, strengthen our business infrastructure through digital transformation and more.
I look forward to your ongoing support as we strive to be a corporate group that continues to grow through solving social challenges and creating diverse value with the power of chemistry.
