Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. (Head Office: Tokyo, Japan; President & CEO: Toshikazu Tanaka) announced the signing of a licensing agreement for acrylamide (AAM) manufacturing technology, the raw material for poly-acrylamide which is used in wastewater treatment and shale gas mining recovery processes, with Kemira OYJ (Head Office: Helsinki, Finland; President & CEO: Wolfgang Büchele).

Mitsui Chemicals AAM manufacturing technology by using bio-catalysts was highly evaluated for its stability in producing high-quality products, when compared with existing copper catalyst chemical processes, and its low burden on the environment.
