Grand Opening Ceremony at MCNS Mexico Works

MCNS Polyurethanes Mexico, S. de RL de CV (President: Young Hak Kim; “MCNS-MX”), a wholly-owned company of Mitsui Chemicals SKC Polyurethane Co., Ltd. (Co-CEOs: Ki Don Won, Shingo Shibata; 50:50 joint venture of Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. and SKC Co., Ltd.; “MCNS”), held an opening ceremony to commemorate completion of construction at its new polyurethane system house^＊ on April 28th.

At the ceremony, SKC Co., Ltd. Chairman Shin Won Choi addressed guests, which included such notables as the Mayor of Salinas Victoria, the Governor and officials from Nuevo Leon, and over 100 important persons and business partners, by saying, “Our new venture will not only support our customers and the growth of the Mexican automotive industry through safe and stable plant operations and business activities, but will also seek to contribute to the welfare of the neighboring community and all our stakeholders”.

MCNS manufactures and sells urethane materials for wide applications including refrigerator insulation and automotive interiors, by capitalizing on its strong system house network comprised of seven Asian sites, including those in Japan and South Korea, and two sites in the Americas and Europe.

MCNS-MX’s new system house will capture the demand of the rapidly growing Mexican automotive industry. The opening ceremony commemorates the commencement of this April’s commercial operations at the new plant. Mexico’s system house is the 10th in MCNS’s polyurethane system house network. MCNS will continue to bolster its operations and expand its network to provide its customers around the world with better products and services.

Manufacturing and sales bases which provide premium services, such as the adjustment of polyurethane foam material formulations including those derived of polyol, to cater to individual customer needs.
