Forecast on the Resumption of Production at Osaka Petrochemical's Ethylene Plant

Osaka Petrochemical Industries, Ltd. (OPC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. (Tokyo: 4183; President & CEO: HASHIMOTO Osamu), has reviewed the schedule for repair work and other processes for the ethylene plant, whose production restart had been postponed. As a result, the plant is expected to resume operations as outlined below.
1. Resumption Schedule
Expected to resume operations in October.
2. Customer Support
Until the plant resumes operations, we are taking all possible measures to minimize the impact on our customers, including transferring ethylene from our Ichihara Plant and procuring from external sources.
3. Impact on Business Performance
First half: Approximately 7 billion yen.
Second half: Under review and will be incorporated into the second half performance forecast at the time of the first half financial results.
