Mitsui Chemicals Inc. (President & CEO: Tsutomu Tannowa) has released “Mitsui Chemicals Group CSR Report 2017 (online version).

The Mitsui Chemicals Group engages in a variety of activities to secure the sustainable growth and development of society and the Group.
With the goal is to maintain a dialog with stakeholders, the report provides a comprehensive overview the Group’s triple bottom line management (economy, environment and society), focusing particularly on its environmental and social initiatives.

Environmental and Social Targets under the 2025 Long-Term Business Plan

Here we provide an explanation of specific details regarding the 2025 Long-Term Business Plan’s (formulated in fiscal 2016) environmental and social targets: “1. Maximize products and services to achieve low carbon, recycling-oriented, and cohesive society in harmony with environment,” “2. Maximize products and services to achieve increased QOL and a smart society,” and “3. Pursue thorough safety, high quality, and fairness in the entire supply chain.” In addition, we make available Mitsui Chemicals management’s dialogs with outside experts about what measures the Group must take throughout the supply chain in order to realize target 3.

Focusing on “pursue innovations” as one of the basic strategies of its 2025 Long-term Business Plan, the Mitsui Chemicals Group has set “customer-driven innovations” as its research and development target.
