Mitsui Chemicals Inc. (President & CEO: Tsutomu Tannowa) has released “Mitsui Chemicals Group ESG Report 2019” (online version).
The Mitsui Chemicals Group is committed to conducting sustainable business management that places ESG elements at its core in deepening our triple bottom line (economy, environment, and society) management approach. We are now giving substance to ESG challenges by incorporating them into management/strategies. At the same time, we are working to improve how we disclose ESG information to our stakeholders.

The report mainly describes our environmental and social initiatives for the triple bottom line.
Taking advantage of publishing the report on a website, we cover the initiatives in as much detail as possible, including policies, systems and initiatives, and related data. The report also contains the “Sustainability Discussion: Looking ahead to the future and working towards our goals ” to introduce the ideas of our senior management about sustainability through a dialogue with an external expert. Other topics covered in the report include climate change and problems with plastic, both of which are becoming an increasingly serious social issues. As a chemicals company that produces plastics and related products, the Mitsui Chemicals Group recognizes the importance of addressing climate change and plastic issues as a social challenge and this report introduces our policies and strategies related to these issues.
