Production Technology for Well-Defined Polymer Fine Powder

We have developed innovative activator-supported single-site catalysts and highly precise aggregation control technologies utilizing electrostatic charging. These advancements enabled the establishment of a stable production process for ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE) fine powder, contributing to its industrialization.

Comprised of carbon and hydrogen, UHMW-PE fine powder represents a promising alternative to perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), including fluoropolymers, supporting the transition to a more sustainable society.

Mitsui Chemicals' long-standing advanced process technology in resin production will continue to play a pivotal role in driving initiatives for a sustainable society.
