My most memorable moments while working in Mitsui Chemicals include the moment when I saw the products which I had developed materializing in the company’s plants.

When I first joined the company in 2013 as a wide-eyed graduate who majored in polymetric science in university, I was looking to join a chemical company that has strength in polymetric science. It was during my interview that I discovered how Mitsui Chemicals respects uniqueness and strength of each and every individual, and that motivated me to join the company as a researcher.

I am currently a HR/Admin Manager providing overall HR and Administration Support to Mitsui Chemicals America (MCA). Some of my primary functions include benefits administration, payroll verification, recruiting and day-to-day HR functions.
Working for MCA located in Rye Brook, New York, I find that the Japanese corporate culture in the company still is ever present. Through working alongside local and expatriate coworkers, I have learnt about how businesses function in other parts of the world and how it influences operations in my home base.

My career has given me an opportunity to grow, expand and develop both professionally and personally. This is largely due to the fact that Mitsui Chemicals is a diverse organization where employees exhibit talent, drive, dedication and professionalism.
There are different reasons why I enjoy working for Mitsui. Firstly, its diversity. I enjoy being part of a diversity team that comes from different background and ideas. Everyone extends their support to one another. This makes us a unique culture.

I am a Senior Global Product Manager, responsible for the entire product lifecycle, and the profit and loss activities for the products I manage. In addition, I am the direct contact person for all relevant functions in the company when it comes to my products.
I find that my job exposes me to an international work setting as my colleagues come from all over the world. The intercultural aspect of my work is very enriching. On top of that, Mitsui Chemicals has given me overseas exposure – for example, we are working closely together with our colleagues in China and the US.

I have had rich and unique experiences in terms of career transition. Coming from a research background, I was working in a reputable Chinese University for seven years before working in Mitsui Chemicals for 27 years and counting. My current role involves the sales and marketing of Mitsui Chemicals' products in the region.
My self-discovery and growth in the company has helped me to carve a career that brings high satisfaction.
When I first joined Mitsui Chemicals as a Chemist, I was working in a laboratory. Thereafter, I rotated roles to the sales department for technical support, where I was required to interact actively with a wide business network and solve problems for clients in the region.
I rose through the ranks to become a General Manager today, which is to me, a remarkable achievement.

I am a Senior Process Technician with DCS operation experience. Leaving my job in India to carve out a career in Singapore, my first overseas job in Singapore was at Mitsui Chemicals.
During my time at Mitsui Chemicals, I have gone for various trainings and courses in Japan where I had firsthand experience at the mother plant in Japan. In turn, my responsibilities have evolved to now be the trainer and guide for new technicians at Mitsui Chemicals. Apart from that, one of my job satisfaction derives from troubleshooting different problems and solving plant troubles.

I spearhead the Health Care Material Division where I am responsible for the sales verticals i.e., Medical Materials, Vision Care Materials & Dental Materials.
On top of that, my achievements include establishing Sun Medical as a quality Dental product manufacturer in India, launching SuperBond™ in the Indian market by gaining the trust of local dentists in and obtaining market share.
I have also successfully bridged the gap between Mitsui Chemicals and local customers to jumpstart the business operations in India, thereby managing marketing and business activities, which ultimately increased Mitsui Chemical’s MR™ Series volume share by 7%.

I joined Mitsui Chemicals India as an intern with no prior experience, I was given the opportunity to survey all industrial & automotive paint manufacturers and learn in depth about Indian market and business development. Years passed, I am now the go-to person for sales and marketing of Polyurethane raw materials, Cast PU elastomer, Biopolyol, Polyethylene wax, and Coating resin.
