The Company received "Silver" certification in 2023, following its "Bronze" certification in 2022, which evaluates the Company's efforts to address issues facing LGBTQ+ and other sexual minorities.

 

PRIDE Index is established by "Work with Pride," a general incorporated association that supports the promotion and establishment of diversity management related to the LGBTQ community.

MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index (WIN)Japan

The MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index (WIN) is made up of companies that actively promote the empowerment of women. These companies are selected from a variety of industries and exhibit high scores for gender diversity based on data regarding the employment of women disclosed in accordance with Japan’s Act on Promotion of Women's Participation and Advancement in the Workplace.

 

The MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index (WIN) has been selected as an ESG index of the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF).

The Valuable 500JapanMitsui Chemicals Group has endorsed and signed on to "The Valuable 500" in October 2019. Launched at the World Economic Forum’s Annual Summit, the Valuable 500 is an initiative created to promote the participation of people with disabilities. The initiative looks for business leaders to carry out reform that allows disabled people to fulfil their potential in business, society and the economy. Details on our press release.
Gan-Ally Declaration AwardsJapan

Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. had received the Gold Award at the 2021 Gan-Ally Declaration Awards on 29 November 2021. This was the third time the company received this honour. The award was previously received in 2018 and 2019. Details on our press release.

 

The Gan-Ally Declaration Awards is an award scheme created by Gan-Ally-Bu , a private sector project that focuses on tackling problems faced by people who continue to work while undergoing cancer treatment. The awards are aimed at encouraging workplaces to be more accommodating of employees who have cancer, thereby creating a society where people can feel comfortable continuing to work while receiving treatment.

Human Capital Partnership (HCP) ProgrammeSingapore 

The Human Capital Partnership (HCP) Programme is a tripartite initiative that brings together a community of exemplary employers in Singapore who have progressive employment practices in their organisations and are committed to developing their human capital.

 

Awarded by Tripartite Alliance for Fair and Progressive Employment Practices (TAFEP), the Mitsui Chemicals Group of companies in Singapore first received the HCPartners status in 2017 and subsequently renewed the status in 2021 for the continued efforts in investing in our human capital using various skills development strategies, and adopting fair and progressive workplace.

Tripartite StandardsSingapore Mitsui Chemicals Group of companies in Singapore had declared the adoption of five Tripartite Standards (TS) in 2024, and have committed to be a fair and progressive employer. The list of TS are standards put in place by the Tripartite Alliance for Fair and Progressive Employment Practices (TAFEP) as a declaration on the adoption of a fair and progressive workplace.
SkillsFuture Employer AwardsSingapore

Mitsui Chemicals Group of companies in Singapore, received the SkillsFuture Employer Awards on 30 July 2019 from Mdm Halimah Yacob, the (previous) President of the Republic of Singapore, for the various efforts and commitment in developing employees. Details on local press release.

 

The award was awarded by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), a government agency that drives and coordinates the implementation of the national SkillsFuture movement, promotes a culture and holistic system of lifelong learning through the pursuit of skills mastery, and strengthens the ecosystem of quality education and training in Singapore.
