Establishment of a Regional Management Company in China

Mitsui Chemicals, Inc.
Targeting expansion of its business in China and strengthening of its overall group management, Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. ("MCI"), with its Head Office in Tokyo, Japan, (Tsutomu Tannowa, President & CEO) established Mitsui Chemicals (China) Co., Ltd. ("new company") by reorganizing Mitsui Chemicals (Shanghai) Co., Ltd on July 1st 2014.
On August 6th, the new company received certification from the City of Shanghai as a multinational corporation ("MNC") regional headquarters under "Provisions of Shanghai City on Encouraging the Establishment of Regional Headquarters by Multinational Corporations" which offers incentives for investment by foreign MNCs.

The new company will allow centralized management of funds and finances of MCI Group companies in China, thereby establishing an optimum operating system for the Group through the provision of business support functions and strengthening risk management as well as conducting current import, export, and sales operations in China. In addition, establishment of the new company will make the MCI Group eligible for incentives, such as financial assistance, from the City of Shanghai.
The Group will continue efforts to expand and strengthen its business in China, with a focus on the new company, by supplying cutting edge, performance driven products to its customers in China.
